West Brom dealt another injury blow as Cedric Kipre set for knee scan
West Brom have been dealt yet another injury blow with Cedric Kipre set for a spell out after suffering a knee injury in the win over QPR.
The defender was contesting a high ball when he went down in the 86th minute of the win on Tuesday evening.
He was taken off and Carlos Corberan has revealed he is set for a scan on Wednesday - and could be facing weeks or even months on the sidelines.
It is the latest in a long line of key injuries Albion have suffered in recent weeks.
Albion were also without both Conor Townsend, who is suffering from sickness and Semi Ajayi, who picked up an ankle injury in Saturday's draw with Plymouth.
Corberan explained: "It's not the best news with him, or the injuries we are having. Ajayi played the last week ten minutes at the end of the game at the weekend and he suffered an injury in the ankle.
"Townsend was sick, he wasn't involved today. Kipre looks like a serious injury, we'll know something more on Wednesday.
"I don't know if it going to be weeks or months. We need to see how much, but it is the more negative point of this game, to lose another player.
"We are losing many players, but in actions that aren't muscle injuries. It is painful to lose players who decrease the possibilities in the team."
Going into further detail on Ajayi's injury, Corberan admitted it would be a miracle if the defender is available for the trip to Coventry City.
He added: "On Monday he came into training and he couldn't walk. He turned his ligament in the ankle. It will be a miracle if he is ready for Coventry.
"I don't know what else. I don't know if it's bad luck, but it's the most negative point now in the mind, because you cannot enjoy the win because you have lost a player in the team."
The news on Kipre come as a big blow to Albion and Corberan - with the defender in sparkling form since returning to the club in the summer.
The Spaniard added: "He's an important player.
"We are working with him a lot to make sure his concentration is always high, but he has some very good conditions as a player - that's why he's playing, it's why we believe in him and that's why it's a pity to lose any player, but to lose someone playing in the first XI is even harder."
