Mystery winger set to sign for Telford

AFC Telford United are finally set to sign their winger target after boss Steve Kittrick's patience paid off.

The un-named wideman has agreed to join the Bucks on a one-year deal after reaching a settlement with his club on the remaining 12 months on his contract.

Kittrick is still keen to keep the identity of his man under wraps until he signs in case anything goes wrong.

But he is confident the exciting player will put pen to paper tomorrow, bringing an end a chase of several weeks for Kittrick, who welcomed his players back for the start of pre-season training on Saturday.

"He has agreed to sign," said the boss. "He has reached an agreement with his club and he came to see us on Saturday so it's positive news.

"He's been at a club that has been very successful last season and the year before that.

"He's an attack-minded player who can play right wing or full back. He's played in the Football League too and he will be a great addition."

Meanwhile, Kittrick was encouraged by what he saw from his players at the weekend as they completed their first pre-season session.

Fit-again midfielder Jack Rea joined the new-look squad and seven trialists as Kittrick and assistant boss Chris Holland put the players through their paces.

"The first session is always difficult but there were some positives," he said.

"There were good numbers and we we'll have another good look at everyone tomorrow night."
