Rob Smith threatens a shake-up at Bucks

Smith is ready to beef up his team with up to three new signings for the visit of the Yorkshiremen to boost the Bucks as they bid to drag themselves off the bottom of National League North.

The former Hednesford boss has already brought in defenders Darren Campion, Lucas Dawson and Curtis Tilt and has another, Paul McCone, training with the club with a view to signing after releasing Ben Harrison and James McQuilkin and loaning out Mason Springthorpe.

He is currently without a reserve keeper after allowing Springthorpe to go to Northwich Victoria on a temporary basis.

"There's nothing too imminent, but on the back of Saturday's defeat, I wouldn't be too surprised to see two or three new faces for this weekend," said Smith. "We've got to start improving and I've told the lads that."

Meanwhile, striker Kaiman Anderson admits he took a physical bashing at Bradford Park Avenue – and needs to beef himself up at the gym to cope with National League North.

"They were probably the most physical side I've played against so far," said the on-loan Shrewsbury Town youngster. "I think I coped with it quite well but it's going to happen more times in this league so I definitely need to get in the gym more which is what I've been doing.

"Hopefully when I grow a bit and get a bit older I'll be (more) effective in this league.

"They were a big, physical side and we didn't really deal with it that well.

"We just need to get on to the next game and put it right."

Anderson remains convinced Telford have the quality to climb the table.
