Montgomery rounded off an afternoon of goalkeeping calamities at Steel Park, when he dropped a corner at the feet of former Buck Greg Mills for the winner.

Callum Ball had earlier put the hosts in front when his shot beat Montgomery, but a blunder by home goalkeeper Paul Walker allowed Dave Hibbert to equalise.

Clayton McDonald capitalised on defensive uncertainty to restore the home side's lead.

Though another Walker mistake allowed Connor McCarthy to level, Montgomery's final blunder proved to be the telling one.

For the hosts it was a first win in 13 games and three points which launched them over the Bucks in the table.

Important as Montgomery's errors were, visiting boss Rob Smith will reflect on a game where his team were well below-par, as their four match unbeaten run came to an end.

Also of concern was the first half withdrawal of captain Hibbert with what appeared the recurrence of a groin injury.

The Bucks boss made just two changes to his starting line-up, with Jack Deaman and Lucas Dawson replacing the injured Paul McCone and suspended Jack Hibbs.

Mills was included in Corby's starting line-up and it was the former Telford man who had a big hand in the opening goal, as the hosts took the lead 15 minutes in.

His cross was met at the far post by Ball, whose volley, while not perfectly struck, had enough to get past Montgomery via the post.

Telford had yet to spark by that point but almost drew level within five minutes. Neat interplay on the edge of the box ended with Sean Clancy playing in McCarthy but the latter dragged his shot horribly across the face of goal.

Unsurprisingly for a team who have conceded more goals than anyone else in the division, Corby looked far from confident in defence.

A Clancy corner caused panic, with no Bucks player able to force the loose ball home.

Though the visitors were far from their best, you suspected they only had to wait for the mistakes and Walker duly provided one on the half hour mark, to gift Hibbert the leveller

The goalkeeper had already avoided one embarrassment when he misjudged a Dawson cross, which bounced off the top of the bar.

But there was no hiding when he chose to parry Darren Campion's through pass and merely directed the ball straight to Hibbert, 10 yards out, who slotted home.

Walker wasn't the only goalkeeper struggling, however, with Montgomery at question as Corby re-took the lead seven minutes later.

He was crowded out as he looked to claim Ben Milnes' low free-kick and after a brief scramble, McDonald fired high into the net.

Yet once again, the lead was short-lived. Once again, Walker was left holding his head in his hands.

Telford's hopes seemed to have suffered a blow when Hibbert was forced off but his replacement, Callum Hassan, was instrumental in the second equaliser.

His shot looked simple for Walker but the goalkeeper failed to hold it and after Clancy had been denied, McCarthy stroked home to ensure the teams went in level at the break.

Robbie Paratore missed a great chance to put Telford ahead for the first time early in the second-half, but side-footed over from 12 yards out after a quick Bucks break.

Clancy came even closer soon after when, after forcing his way past right-back Kalern Thomas, he fired a shot past Walker which clattered back off the post.

Telford were on top for the first time in the game but were undone by yet another goalkeeping clanger on the hour mark, as Corby went ahead for the first time.

Montgomery was unchallenged as he went up to claim Milnes' corner but only proceeded to drop the ball at the feet of Mills, who couldn't miss.

The goalkeeper, at least, went some way to redeeming himself by tipping over a Milnes drive to ensure the hosts did not pull further clear.

Then came a big moment, with Walker again at the centre of it. McCarthy broke away from the defence and tumbled as he looked to go round the stopper, on the edge of the box.

Referee Simon Barrow immediately whistled and - with the home crowd holding their breath - promptly booked the Bucks striker for diving.

Smith introduced Johnny Gorman and Ryan Rowe and the pair nearly combined to level it up at 3-3, only for the former to blaze the latter's perfectly-executed through ball over the bar from ten yards.
