AFC Telford sign Fylde ace Josh Wilson

AFC Telford United have further strengthened their attack with the signing of Fylde ace Josh Wilson.

The 27-year-old versatile striker has signed a deal to the end of the season and replaces George Bowerman, who has landed a trial at Orlando City.

Wilson, a former England C international who is a cousin of Burnley's former Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton, can play as a striker or in the number 10 role.

He arrives at the New Bucks Head with an impressive pedigree, having scored 26 goals in 68 appearances for Vauxhall Motors from 2010-12, before adding 20 in 43 games for Guiseley in 2012-13.

Following that up with seven strikes in 22 starts for Halifax, he signed on loan for Fylde in November 2014 and was a big part of a long unbeaten run, penning an 18-month deal after just seven appearances.

Wilson made his Fylde debut against Stockport and scored his first goal in his next appearance against Hednesford, finishing the season as a regular in the Coasters side.

But he has fallen out of favour recently and didn't figure in Fylde's 2-1 win at Telford last week. He bolsters an attack containing John Cofie, Dave Hibbert and Ryan Rowe.
