The Bucks's biggest win of the season moved them up to third from bottom and within goal difference of escaping the drop zone.

It was a bizarre game which saw FC United use three goalkeepers and be reduced to 10 men by half-time.

By then John Cofie had given Telford a lead doubled by Lucas Dawson from the spot before second-half strikes from Dave Hibbert, Dwayne Samuels and sub Sean Clancy sealed a memorable victory.

"We're not getting carried away, but it's a start and it gives us a fighting chance," said assistant boss Chambers.

"It's a feeling of relief because we knew how big a game it was and we've played more games than a lot of the teams down there.

"After Solihull on Saturday, we've got another free weekend so if we've have lost this one, I think it would have made things difficult for us.

"But we're now in the mix and we go to Solihull on Saturday on the back of a good performance.

"I think with the exception of the Hednesford game, all the performances have been an improvement."

Reds keeper David Carnell went off injured and with no replacement on the bench, winger Sam Madeley donned the gloves.

He saw red for bringing down Connor McCarthy for the penalty scored by Dawson, which saw centtre back Luke Ashworth between the sticks.

"I think that helped us. It's always difficult playing against 10 men but things happened too quickly for them," admitted Chambers.

"They lost their keeper to injury then they had the kid sent off and things went in our favour, and for the first time in a long while. we took advantage of it.

"We're not at taking opportunities, but this time we did and we got some goals.

Chambers added: "I don't know whether it will come down to goal difference at the end of the season, but at least we've managed to claw some back with this result.

"The disappointing thing was to concede through some sloppiness."
