AFC Telford United are still searching for a creative midfielder after missing out on Jamey Osborne.

The Bucks go to National League North leaders Solihull Moors on Saturday buoyed by Tuesday's 5-1 win over FC United of Manchester, their biggest of the season.

But assistant manager Larry Chambers wants more creativity from the middle of the park after missing out on Redditch United playmaker Osborne, who played many of his near-200 games for Hednesford under Chambers and boss Rob Smith.

"I don't think the midfield has been right all season," said Chambers.

"It's been no secret myself and Rob have been looking for a creative midfielder to complement the others, but it's difficult. We made a play for Jamey Osborne at Redditch but he's staying there to the end of the season.

"Lucas Dawson and Jordan Wynter have done well and we've played Sean (Clancy) in there, but we want someone else who can get on the ball and make things happen."

Meanwhile, Chambers insists the current Telford squad have the right work ethic to survive.

"If one thing has come out of the last few games it's that we're putting a shift in," said Chambers.

"We enjoy working with this group. We're getting a shift out of them and there's more quality in the squad. They take on board what we ask them to do."

Tuesday's win put Telford third from bottom but just one point separates the bottom four and those either side of them – Hednesford and Lowestoft – have three games in hand.

Telford have a couple of minor injury concerns.

"Jordan Wynter has a tight hamstring and 'Hutch' (Graham Hutchison) came off because he picked up a knock on the calf," added Chambers. "But I'd expect them both to be fit by the weekend
