AFC Telford extend Harry Burgoyne's loan
AFC Telford United have extended the loan of Wolves goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne to keep him the rest of the season.
The Ludlow-born player's second month at the New Bucks Head ended after last Saturday's 1-1 friendly draw between the clubs.
But Wolves have agreed to allow the 19-year-old further experience in National League North.
Burgoyne has played eight league games for Telford, conceding 11 goals, and been impressive.
Wolves head of recruitment Kevin Thelwell said: "We're pleased Telford have decided to extend Harry's loan until the end of the season.
"He's enjoyed his spell with the club, and is getting some really good experience playing men's football at a good standard. The loan is working well for Harry and for both clubs."
Telford are the third National League North club Burgoyne has played for on loan this season, after starting 2015-16 facing them at Lowestoft before a stint at Corby.
The Bucks go into Saturday's clash at Liam Watson's Stalybridge Celtic bottom and three points from safety. But, despite their struggles, Thelwell insists Burgoyne is relishing helping the club stay up.
He said: "I know how desperately keen he is to play a part in helping Telford win their battle against relegation."
Burgoyne admits playing men's football is a different experience to the Under-21s.
He said: "You've got the dirty side of the game where elbows are left in, but you've got to learn to deal with that before you move on to the next level.
Fellow goalkeeper James Montgomery is nearing full fitness following a finger injury, but Burgoyne insists he hasn't come to take his fellow youngster's place.
He said: "I'm here to protect him, in a way, giving him longer to make sure his finger is properly healed so when he does come back into the team, he's fit."
