Goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has set his sights on being a hero for AFC Telford United.

The on-loan Wolves youngster takes his place between the sticks tonight at Alfreton Town.

He kicked off his third month on loan with the Bucks with that astonishing 5-5 draw at Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday.

Ludlow-born Burgyone didn't cover himself in glory as he was at fault for two of Celtic's goals in the 10-goal free-for-all in Greater Manchester.

The 19-year-old is hoping for a quieter night in Derbyshire as Telford look for the win to move them within a point of the safety line.

But he wants to do his bit to help Rob Smith's side survive, saying: "You're in a win-win situation. because you're on loan.

"You're there to impress so you can be a hero going there for the last few months of the season.

"It's a great chance to earn the right to say you're the man who has got them out of a relegation battle."

Telford scored three goals in the last 10 minutes to come from 5-2 down and rescue a point at the weekend.

And Burgoyne believes the spirit displayed shows how determined the players are to win their relegation battle.

He said: "I just think it shows how far we've come in the last few months to come back and draw 5-5.

"Afterwards, in the changing room, it felt like a win, so we have to take great confidence from that into tonight's game."

Burgoyne admitted it was a real backs-against-the wall effort, continuing: "We were at the top of the bank at the start of the game.

"Then we conceded three goals in the first-half. In the second half we were at the bottom of the bank and it was just horrible.

"They played for long throw-ins and just kept sticking everything on us, but to score three goals late on we were really happy."
