We've done our homework on AFC Telford, says Harrogate boss

AFC Telford United's opponents tomorrow Harrogate have done their homework on them – right down to dossiers on the Bucks players.

Rob Smith's in-form side go to second-placed Harrogate aiming to build on a run that has taken out of the National North drop zone.

Harrogate are seeking to bounce back from Tuesday's 1-0 defeat at Tamworth and regain the form that saw them win four and draw one of their previous five outings and concede none in four.

Despite the gulf in league positions, manager Simon Weaver is taking nothing for granted and has ensured his players are clued up on Smith's side.

"We trained last night when all the preparation was done," said Weaver.

"We made sure everyone recognised the strengths of Telford – every player has a description of each of their players and their lads on the bench, in case they want to surprise us or change things."

Harrogate are wary of an attacking threat which has brought Telford 17 goals in their last six games and unbeaten in four.

"My assistant John McDermott watched them last week," said Weaver.

"The report back was they're a real handful with the three up front and all three are more than capable of scoring.

"Josh Wilson has got five in three games," said Weaver.

"We know they like to put the ball forwards early and with the goalscorers they've got, they've got a good chance of pulling clear and I'm sure they will."

"They have a lot of experience and now have the cutting edge to go with it.

"In addition to the three strikers in the team, Dave Hibbert is a big, experienced lad who can win that first ball and finish as well."

But Weaver is looking for a backlash from his players as they look to close the nine-point gap leaders Solihull Moors.

"We'll be up for it and we expect our players to be really up for it," he said.

"They don't need much firing up because they're the right type.

"We've only conceded one goal in five games so we're still pretty solid.

"We're in a great position and it's made us determined to keep progressing because the club has never been as high as this."
