Darren Campion: Feel-good at AFC Telford

AFC Telford United full-back Darren Campion has praised his team-mates for helping improve morale as a feel-good factor descends on the New Bucks Head.

The left-sided defender has been an integral part of Rob Smith and Larry Chambers' revolution since following them from Hednesford Town last August.

The Bucks headed into today's visit of Tamworth on a five-game unbeaten run, winning four, and Campion insists that the mood has turned for the better.

He said: "It's become a really good place to be and the boys are buzzing. Players have come together and they all feel rooted into the club now.

"Everyone is now working themselves into the ground and, when you do that, you get respect from the gaffer. He loves that, as long as you're putting in a shift."

While a couple of attacking additions have given the Bucks a real spark going forward, Campion hailed the boss' influence behind the scenes in installing belief back in the camp.

The Bucks have picked up unlikely three points against Harrogate Town, Alfreton and Chorley in recent weeks.

Campion added: "The way the gaffer speaks to us about the opposition helps. He tells us that each team think they will come and turn us over.

"We all think that sort of thing is a bit cheeky really and in return we turned Harrogate and Chorley over without conceding in either game."
