Graham Hutchison set for AFC Telford chance

Defender Graham Hutchison insists he is ready for his chance again to propel AFC Telford United to safety.

The on-loan Halifax centre-back is set for his opportunity again to replace either Mike Grogan or Curtis Tilt in the run-in.

Grogan has a one-match ban for the Worcester City home game on April 23, after his sending off for two bookable offences in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to National North champions-elect Solihull Moors.

But he is available for the next two games, Saturday's trip to high-flying North Ferriby United and the re-arranged visit to relegation rivals Brackley Town on April 19.

Hutchison came on for Tilt late on at the weekend as a precaution because he is on 14 bookings – just one away from another suspension.

And the Scot is ready and waiting for the call, saying: "Potentially, this could be another chance for me.

"I got injured and the lads have been doing well so there are no complaints from me about being out of the team.

"I want to see the team doing well and I've been patiently waiting for my chance and I intend to take it when it comes.

"I've been out of the team but I got a run-out against Shrewsbury in the Shropshire Senior Cup and the last 20 minutes on Saturday.

"There are still a few cobwebs to blow out but, if and when selected, I'll be ready to come back in.

"I've played a lot of games this season and I've only had a couple of weeks out, so if I'm picked I'll be really happy to come in to what has been a very good team."

Defeat for Telford at the weekend ended a seven-match unbeaten run and saw their goal breached for the first time in 456 minutes, after five consecutive clean sheets.

But Hutchison is confident the Bucks can return to their pre-Solihull form at North Ferriby on Saturday.

He said: "We know, as a team, we didn't perform as well. It was just a bad day at the office, but we can come back fighting and start another unbeaten run."
