AFC Telford United goalkeeper James Montgomery wants to atone for his errors tomorrow.

The Bucks No 1 has taken the blame for Solihull Moors's goals in last week's 3-0 defeat and admits they were 'shocking' ones to concede.

But, after keeping a personal best and club record five clean sheets in a row before last weekend, he wants to put things right as Rob Smith's side take their survival mission to North Ferriby United.

Montgomery said: "I take full responsibility for my performance and it was nowhere near good enough or nowhere near the standards I can perform at.

"I take full responsibility for the goals – they were shocking and I felt my performance spread through to the rest of the team so it might have had an effect.

"I just hope I can put it right tomorrow. Two of the goals were clangers so I just want to move on from that as quickly as possible.

"I'm looking forward to tomorrow's game because last Saturday wasn't a good day at the office.

"Personally, five clean sheets in a row was the best run I've had and it was nice to have gone on such a run.

"It was just a shame we couldn't make it eight games unbeaten, but now with four games left we need to go on another run."

Montgomery admitted he felt jaded going into last week's game, but after management duo Smith and Larry Chambers gave the players Tuesday night off, he's ready to go again.

He said: "I didn't feel like myself and I felt like I didn't have much energy, but the gaffer gave us Tuesday off as recovery and I feel fully recovered now so, hopefully, we'll all be refreshed."

Montgomery has full confidence in his defence whoever plays, with Curtis Tilt on 14 bookings and Mike Grogan suspended for the Worcester game on April 30.

The shot-stopper said: "You have to credit Mike Grogan with coming in because he's been superb, but you can't say Graham Hutchison hasn't been great because he's performed well all season.

"Whoever's playing, I've got confidence in them."
