Larry Chambers questions Telford's loss

AFC Telford United assistant Larry Chambers questioned the side's second-half commitment as they fell to a 2-0 defeat at North Ferriby.

The second defeat in two games, coupled with draws for relegation rivals Brackley Town and Lowestoft Town, leaves the Bucks just two points clear of the drop zone.

They travel to Brackley on Tuesday for a relegation six-pointer, but will have to improve on a second-half display where individual errors gifted two strikes to the high-flying Yorkshire side.

Chambers said: "You get out of it what you put in and the second goal, I don't think we deserved a point in the second-half, you can see by their second goal that they wanted it more.

"The disappointing thing for me is that over the last four or five weeks opposition managers have been saying Telford wanted it more than we did but second-half Ferriby wanted it more.

"It's the same players, the service into the strikers hasn't been great and I don't think we're working hard enough to make things happen.

"First-half it was an event game, I thought we had the better chance and belief it or not we're struggling to score in the last couple of games.

"I thought Connor should've scored and we kept Tom Denton quiet, the back four did OK

"We started the second-half slow, in the first three or four minutes we went back to Monty (Montgomery) without any need to."

Dwayne Samuels, who has been one of Rob Smith's most consistent performers throughout campaign, was caught out for both goals.

Chambers admitted that the Bucks didn't do enough to get back into the game, while acknowledging that the goals were gifted to the hosts.

"Once they scored we didn't show any creativity," he added.

"But for me we created our own downfall today. The goals were self-inflictive from individual mistakes which could've been avoided.

"They were clinical on both occasion and we didn't look like scoring."
