The Bucks fell to a 2-0 defeat at the play-off chasing Ferriby, who profited from individual errors to condemn Rob Smith's side to a successive defeat.

Two second-half goals from Danny Clarke sealed Telford fate on a day they struggled to create much in attacking areas.

With relegation rivals Lowestoft Town and Brackley Town drawing, Telford's trip to Brackley on Tuesday looks enormous - they now sit just two points clear of the drop zone.

Graham Hutchison and the Telford defence were given an early taster of Tom Denton's aerial prowess in the Ferriby attack, the six foot seven frontman flicked on a long throw that Hutchison had to be aware to clear.

But almost straight down the other end, the visiting Bucks fashioned a clear opening as Jack Rea's ball over the top picked out Connor McCarthy who stayed onside but could only fire across Adam Nicklin's goal.

The Bucks remained on top and Lucas Dawson flashed a 30-yard strike wide at the near post after good vision from Josh Wilson and industry from McCarthy.

As the grey skies gave way to an intense hail errors began to creep into the Bucks game, as Curtis Tilt gave away possession and a Darren Campion slip was only rescued by Jack Rea's timely challenge.

Hutchison was caught out of position and the hosts created an opening for Nathan Hotte, who fired first-time into James Montgomery's midriff.

Montgomery was in action again after Dwayne Samuels lost possession and the Bucks conceded a dangerous looking free-kick. Adam Bolder's fierce effort was very well dealt with at the shot-stopper's near post.

The manic start quitened out and the game began to be played in the middle of park. There was plenty of needle in the Grange Lane encounter, Wilson was shown an early yellow card with Mike Grogan and Dawson having talkings to.

Influential Ferriby midfielder Liam King, who has scored 17 times so far this season, was forced off injured midway through the first period.

As the half dragged into a period of stoppage time, both sides could conceivably have been ahead, firstly Grogan almost profited from a Ferriby flick-on and looked set to loop a header over Nicklin, but Ash Palmer cleared from his line.

Straight down the other end and slack defending almost let the hosts in, invisible marking let the lively Bolder have a free strike at Montgomery which the keeper beat away confidently before letting his defences know of his disgust.

Sean Clancy replaced Darren Campion at the break, who appeared to take a knock to the foot, but as conditions worsened, Ferriby continued the ascendency and the breakthrough goal seemed inevitable.

It arrived 10 minutes into the half, as a rare Samuels error handed possession to Danny Clarke who had broke into a dangerous area.

Clarke drew a decent stop from Montgomery but the effort rebounded into the winger's path and he could hardly miss as the home support erupted.

A Clancy strike in response was well-blocked before Dawson's free-kick from the left corner of the area was straight down throat of Nicklin.

Ferriby continued to defend well, it was a game of little real quality but quite easy to see why the hosts boasted one of the league's meanest defences.

As the encounter entered its final quarter bereft of chances, Samuels met a Dawson corner but had to lean back and could only arch a header over the top.

Clarke sealed the points after stealing the ball from Samuels and rounding Montgomery to tap into an unguarded net and condemn Telford to a disappointing afternoon.
