The Bucks host Worcester City tomorrow in their final home game of the season, seeking three points to all but guarantee their National League North future.

Brackley must win at Curzon Ashton to have any realistic chance of catching Telford, whose last game is at Chorley next week.

And Smith is backing his side, saying: "This is the penultimate game and we've got to be confident.

"We can't ask for any more than a home game with a big crowd guaranteed against a local team and it's in our hands.

"Two wins and we've done it. We always believed we could get out of it, but it's been a rollercoaster few weeks when we thought we had enough and we didn't.

"We go into this weekend still fighting. I'm just glad we have this opportunity with two games to go."

The Bucks chief is confident his players can cope with the pressure, continuing: "I don't think we'll wilt at all – we'll try to embrace it.

"Everything is in our favour and I think the players will be looking forward to it. We're all in this together all fighting for the same thing and we're all determined to get out of it."

Smith has also issued a rallying call to the Telford public, adding: "It's well known that when there's 2,000 fans in that ground, it's a great place to be.

"It really helps, so everyone has a massive part to play."

The Bucks boss admits Hednesford Town's relegation has made him even more determined to keep Telford up.

He said: "I do feel sorry for them. We spent a lot of time and effort getting that club promoted so for me, personally, it's sad to see them go.

"We're desperate not to go down because this club needs and deserves to be in National League North, but it's proved to be an unforgiving league."
