Decision day is looming for Curtis Tilt

The 24-year-old centre-back has been offered a new one-year deal but has stalled while he awaits other interest.

Twelve days ago the former Halesowen Town and Hednesford defender said he hadn't received any other offers and he has told the Shropshire Star that remains the case.

Interest from Dagenham and Redbridge, who were relegated to the National League at the end of the season, appears to have cooled and Tilt reckons it is only fair to the Bucks to let them know as soon as possible.

"I had a meeting with the gaffer (manager Rob Smith) on Monday night and I've gone away to think about it," he said.

"To be fair to the gaffer and Telford, I've got to make my decision quickly – within the week really.

"I'm playing a waiting game at the minute – I've been on holiday and only got back on Monday and then I've been busy with work but I've got to start thinking about football again.

"The only offer I've had is from Telford. I just need to take time out and think about it."

As for any interest from Dagenham, Tilt said: "I know nothing about Dagenham's interest. There was interest in January but I think that was about it. Nothing has happened with regards to anyone else."

A JCB driver by trade and based in the Walsall area, Tilt recently became a father for the third time and admits he would be tempted by the full-time game – depending on the offer – and wouldn't rule out moving location.

"I work for a family business so travelling isn't an issue and it depends on what comes up and what league they're in," he said. "I'm happy to talk to any club and if it was full-time then that would become my job."

However Tilt, who has an agent acting for him, feels he has been strung along elsewhere. It's just people ringing me up but there hasn't been any deals offered," he said. "Talk is cheap. There's nothing on the table."
