Callum Gittings chose AFC Telford United

The 30-year-old midfielder received an offer to remain with Moors, who he last season helped reach the National Premier Division, as well as two rival offers from National North.

But he insists the attraction of playing for boss Rob Smith and assistant Larry Chambers and the lure of playing at the Bucks Head made his mind up, after figuring 16 times in Moors' title-winning campaign.

Gittings said: "Solihull contacted me last week to try to get me back but my mind was already made up when I met Rob and Larry and I'm just pleased it's all sorted now.

"Rob and Larry gave me a call and it went from there. I had a couple of offers from the same league.

"It was in the back of my mind that playing in the league above would involve a lot of travelling and playing nationwide, as well as being full-time, was going to be hard work so this appealed to me."

Gittings, who finished the season on loan at Leamington, is still proud to have played his part in Solihull's promotion.

He said: "I only played a bit-part but it was nice to be part of the squad that won promotion at Solihull and it was the first thing I've won in my career.

And he's delighted to be plying his trade at the New Bucks Head with Telford next season.

He said: "I feel excited to be honest. I've played there numerous times and I've always enjoyed the atmosphere.

"It's a great stadium with a good set of fans and I'm looking forward to getting going. I've played against a few of the players and I think we'll finish a lot higher this season."
