Elliott Durrell promises AFC Telford an answer
Transfer target Elliott Durrell admits he has unfinished business with AFC Telford United – and will decide on his future by the end of the week.
The 26-year-old free-scoring midfielder has held talks with Bucks boss Rob Smith and admitted yesterday he feels a pull towards the club where he started his career.
Durrell also has interest from Chester, Halifax and Boston and has promised a decision in the next day or two.
He said: "I'd like to think it will be close to being sorted by the weekend. Clubs are back in pre-season training next week so I'd like to get it sorted by then.
"I started my career at Telford under Rob and Larry (Chambers) but they had me down as a right-back ,so I went to ply my trade elsewhere and blossomed at Hednesford Town.
"That's a factor as well because I feel I've got unfinished business at Telford."
Durrell admits Telford's eight summer signings – notably former Wrexham skipper Lee Fowler – have made them a better proposition.
He said: "The gaffer's shrewd in business and he's made some great signings. One of the best ones he signed last season was Darren Campion, who's a good friend of mine.
"He'll fight and battle and put everything on the line. Lee Fowler came on loan to Tamworth last season and when he was fit he was the best player in the league by a long stretch."
