AFC Telford United enjoyed their biggest pre-season win as they comfortably beat Market Drayton Town to reach the Shropshire Senior Cup final.

Strikers Josh Wilson (eight minutes and 80) and Danny Reynolds (52 and 83) scored two goals each as the Bucks romped home at Greenfields.

Telford could have had more goals but for the superb goalkeeping of highly-rated Ash Rawlins, who made several fine saves.

Bucks boss Rob Smith rested Dwayne Samuels, while Dan Preston wasn't in the 16-man squad but otherwise selected his strongest team in a 4-3-3 formation.

Drayton could have gone ahead after just 42 seconds, when winger Shaquille Leacham Whittingham found himself clean through, but goalkeeper James Montgomery blocked well with his legs.

From then on, it was virtually all one-way traffic as Telford attacked at every opportunity.

The Bucks went ahead with a suspicion of offside when Wilson coolly side-footed home from Reynolds's pass to his right, after the scorer had initially sent him racing clear from halfway.

Drayton left back Kevin Buxton was booked in the 14th minute for bringing down Tom Peers and, from the resulting free kick, Wilson's curling effort hit the bar.

Peers should have done better on 23 when he could only volley straight at Rawlins after a poor clearance.

AFC Telford United (4-3-3): Montgomery; Dawson, Havern, Bailey, Campion; Rea, Gittings, Fowler; Peers, Wilson, Reynolds.

Referee: Blake Antrobus (Shrewsbury).

It wasn't long before the Drayton keeper was showing why he attracted the attentions of Premier League champions Leicester City last season.

First the 19-year-old denied Reynolds with a superb save diving to his left, after the striker fired low from a tight angle following Darren Campion's ball over the top on 26 minutes.

Then, three minutes later, he blocked with his feet to foil Wilson, whose give and go with Reynolds split the defence and left him in goal.

Drayton produced a rare threat on 33 and it was dangerman Whittingham who was put in by Michael Mackintosh and turned inside only to fire straight at Montgomery.

Rawlins then had to save the blushes of right-back Connor Price, sprawling to his right to stop his headed backpass from Lee Fowler's cross.

The Drayton goalkeeper had been the key figure, but he will be disappointed with his part as Telford doubled their lead with their first serious attack of the second-half.

Rawlins got two hands on the ball from Reynolds' low drive from the edge of the box, but he couldn't hold it and the ball squirmed through his grasp.

Telford made three changes on the hour as Michael Monaghan, Tom Edge and Sean Williams replaced Campion, Fowler and Gittings, before Dave Hibbert replaced Peers five minutes later.

Reynolds continued to look lively for the Bucks and with neat footwork he beat two defenders on 66, after latching on to Sean Williams's pass only to curl his shot into the grateful arms of Rawlins.

A foul by Daniel Beddows on Hibbert gave Telford the chance to grab a third goal and Wilson curled a delightful free kick over the wall and into the net, at Rawlins' near post from just outside the box.

Three minutes later, it was 4-0 when Reynolds dribbled in from the left before steering the ball home.
