Rob Smith: Get better or I'll change it at Telford

The Bucks have just one point from their first three league games, the last being a 2-1 loss at Tamworth on Saturday.

The hosts snatched the victory right at the death through 40-year-old player-manager Andy Morrell, formerly of Shrewsbury Town.

Smith, whose men host Stalybridge Celtic tomorrow night, said of the performance: "I am so disappointed.

"We have got non-contract players this year and if we don't improve we're going to have to make changes because I'm not going to go through what I went through last year.

"Already, we're sort of going through that. Performances are better but the results aren't and that's what it is all about."

Smith made three changes to try to influence the game. Callum Gittings came on for Lee Fowler at half-time, Michael Monaghan replaced Micah Evans and Danny Reynolds went on in place of goalscorer Tom Peers.

When asked if Fowler had picked up a knock, Smith said: "No, I just thought he was poor and I thought the game bypassed him.

"We made a change to get Callum in there but in fairness I don't think Callum did much either.

"I thought Tamworth was a winnable game, the supporters came in numbers.

"I think it was a game to be won, Tom Peers has had a chance from five yards out but he has taken a touch for some reason.

"Andy Morrell comes on for Tamworth, at the age of whatever, and it's a goal. That is the difference."

Smith knows football is a game of fine margins and his men need constantly to be on their toes.

"I just don't quite think we did enough," he added.

"We didn't do enough to get a draw against Fylde. It's a hard luck story.

"We didn't do enough to win at FC United of Manchester and we didn't do enough to get the draw (against Tamworth), so it's disappointing."
