Bucks host Stockport County – one of Havern's former clubs – at New Bucks Head tomorrow (3pm).

The 27-year-old central defender, who last played for Altrincham before joining Rob Smith's men over the summer, is looking forward to mixing it up against his old team.

"I played under Jim Gannon (Stockport boss) so I know it is going to be a tough game for us," said Havern.

"It's one of those you look forward to as a player and they are a big team in this league.

"I expect them to be well organised, they are a good side."

Telford are two games unbeaten in the league and won their last game at home 2-1 against Stalybridge Celtic.

Havern wants to continue to be solid at New Bucks Head and put in a good performance for the fans.

"We have got to try and get the three points and at home that is always the aim," he said.

"We want to try and make New Bucks Head a bit of a fortress.

"With the Curzon Ashton game, we showed character to carry on and get the point and we want to go on a run."

Havern, although he missed training on Tuesday, took part in training last night and has been a mainstay at the back so far this term alongside full-backs Dwayne Samuels and Darren Campion, centre-half partner Dan Preston and goalkeeper James Montgomery.

On the developing understanding between himself and his fellow defenders, Havern said: "We have got make sure we make it hard for teams to score against us.

"We want to be hard to beat and develop partnerships.

"For me personally, we want to be solid at the back and give the team a platform to build on but we are looking to develop all over the pitch, in midfield and attack as well."

Havern, a Mancunian of Italian descent, has won promotion twice from National League North with Hyde and last club Altrincham.

He insists the squad is in a 'great mood', despite the recent departures of midfielders Lee Fowler and Michael Monaghan.

"It's a great mood and as I've said before, we are a really close-knit group," he added.

"It's unfortunate with Lee (Fowler) and Michael (Monaghan) leaving, they are great lads.

"Things like that happen in football and players do move on but we are all really close and looking to do well."
