Larry Chambers delighted with Telford commitment

AFC Telford United assistant boss Larry Chambers has commended the side for their 'commitment, attitude and application' in the 0-0 draw against Stockport County.

Although the Bucks lacked a cutting edge in front of goal at the New Bucks Head, they now have three clean sheets after six games in National League North.

Chambers said: "I think it was a good, competitive game wth two sides giving it a go but both probably lacked a bit of quality in the final third.

"We have been preaching all week about being competitive and making ourselves difficult to beat, which we were.

"For us particularly though, the disappointing thing is that we didn't make enough if the possession we had.

"I think we got in some real good positions, both first half and second half, and we didn't make the keeper work enough."

Telford did have a big chance to go ahead on the stroke of half-time.

James Hurst's cross was met by Danny Reynolds, but his header from point-blank rage was saved by Hatters goalkeeper Ben Hinchcliffe.

"The one real good chance we made - James Hurst has put a ball in to Danny Reynolds, a great ball in," added Chambers.

"Danny got some contact and it could have gone anywhere really.

"If that had gone in, maybe it would have changed the game but no complaints in terms of the commitment, attitude and application.

"A little disappointed and frustrated we didn't do more but maybe a point was fair."
