In front of 1311 supporters at the New Bucks Head, both sides had their moments but, ultimately, neither had quite enough quality in the final third to secure the three points.

Telford made three changes from the 1-1 draw at Curzon Ashton last weekend - Jack Rea, James Hurst and Danny Reynolds coming in for Lucas Dawson, Callum Gittings and Tom Peers.

Both teams were quick out of the blocks, eager to press high up the field, and there was activity in the two boxes.

Stockport, buoyed by their vocal supporters, went close through John Marsden but arguably their best chance of the half came in the sixth minute.

After some sloppy defending from a corner, the ball broke to Lewis Montrose on the edge of the 18-yard area but his effort deflected out for a corner.

Telford's Dave Hibbert then forced a routine stop from Ben Hinchcliffe and the Hatters goalkeeper was at full-stretch just a minute later to deny a curling Danny Reynolds strike.

Both sides were keen to get stuck in and Bucks full-back Darren Campion was given a booking by referee Ricky Wootton on the quarter-hour mark for a late challenge on John Marsden.

After Hibbert had a volley tipped over the crossbar by Hinchcliffe, the pace slowed down and there was a lack of a cutting edge, with ambitious passes going astray.

The hosts had the best opportunity of the first period, by some way, just prior to the interval though.

James Hurst, making his first start for the club, found Reynolds with a delicious lofted ball across the face of goal.

From just a few yards out, Reynolds' header was stopped and gathered by Hinchcliffe and the game was goalless at the break.

Telford were the first to have an effort on target in the second period.

Hurst, who was substituted in the 54th minute for Micah Evans, found space on the left-hand side and his cross was met by Hibbert, whose header went straight at Hinchliffe.

Stockport's Danny Lloyd went in to the referee's book for a heavy tackle on Campion, before Bucks boss Rob Smith made two more changes, bringing on Tom Peers and Lucas Dawson on for Reynolds and Jack Rea.

The fresh faces did not have the desired effect though as the hosts struggled to create any real openings, while the Hatters had a lively last 10 minutes.

Marsden fired just past the far post from inside the box, with substitute Adam Thomas doing the same shortly after.

Bucks shot-stopper James Montgomery then tipped Marsden's free-kick, which was heading for the top corner, over the crossbar.

In the four minutes of added time, winger Evans burst into the box but hesitated and the game ended 0-0.

A solid display at the back by Telford, but they will hope to be more ruthless in front of goal at Nuneaton Town on Monday (3pm).
