AFC Telford sign midfielder Jonathan Royle on three-month loan

AFC Telford have today signed ballwinning midfielder Jonathan Royle on a three-month loan from Southport.

Paperwork has been completed so the 21-year-old is available for tonight's visit of Kidderminster Harriers and he is also eligible for the FA Cup and FA Trophy.

Royle has played three games for Southport this season - most recently a 1-0 home defeat to Dover on Saturday.

He joined Southport in the summer from Wrexham, where he made one appearance last season, and two in total.

The youngster has experience of National League North however, having spent the final three months of last season on loan at Hednesford.

During his four years at the Racecourse Ground, he also had two stints at Colwyn Bay, including a full season.

Royle is the third player to be signed this summer with Wrexham links after striker Danny Reynolds and attacking midfielder Lee Fowler, who has since left the club.

The defensive midfielder has been signed as cover for Jack Rea, who is set to miss his second game in a row because of an ankle injury.
