Larry Chambers blasts poor Telford

AFC Telford United assistant Larry Chambers has blasted the side after the 3-1 defeat at Gainsborough Trinity, adding: "We didn't have any invention or flair."

They struggled throughout, with Ben Bailey sent off for two bookable offences and Josh Wilson limping off with a hamstring injury.

Wilson did score but a Jordan Thewlis strike and an Ashley Worsfeld double condemned the Bucks to a deserved loss.

On following up the 1-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers with a poor performance, Chambers said: "It really went from bad to worse and, if I'm honest with you I couldn't see it coming.

"To me, it stinks of a team turning up and thinking because we got a great result on Tuesday, we may have arrived.

"We have forgot the basic ethics, working hard and making things difficult for the opponents before it is too late."

As has been the story so often this term, Telford lacked a cutting edge in attack but this time around were below par defensively too.

"We had possession early on, they got behind the ball and made it difficult for us," added Chambers.

"We couldn't break them down. We didn't have any invention or any flair and the game got in that tone.

"I just think out of the two sides, they looked more like scoring than we did."
