A board statement was released on Tuesday, which revealed £25,000 needs to be raised by the end of the month, and the same amount for the end of next month.

It also detailed the need of a change from the current Supporters Trust ownership model to make way for new investment.

An update posted on the club's website reads: " It's now been just over two days since our initial Club Board Statement was released.

"We are still overwhelmed by the support received. At the moment, we have a supporter helping to sweep up the stands, ready for the game on Saturday, and we have received over £2,500 in cash donations.

"A few businesses have sponsored amounts and a local sponsor, The Railway Inn, in Wellington, are donating payments for pints from customers.

"We have also received a very generous offer from a sponsor who has pledged to match all of the donations received.

"We would like the Spirit of 04 to return on Saturday, with a packed stadium. Spread the word, bring your family & friends. Your football club needs you!

"If you would like to donate by Paypal please click on the Back the Bucks link on www.telfordunited.com or pay directly to office@telfordutd.co.uk

"There will be donation buckets around the stadium on Saturday, if you would like to donate in person.

"The total donated has been amended to start from zero since Tuesday 11th October, and will be updated at the end of each day."
