The club's financial problems were revealed last week with Bucks chiefs admitting they needed new investment.

Supporters and businesses have rallied since then and the fundraising total has now hit £14,610

An increased attendance at last Saturday's home clash with FC United of Manchester helped to bring in almost £8,000 more than normal.

The Bucks, who also need to raise a further £25,000 by the end of November, appointed a new commercial manager (Liz Allsopp) on Monday in a bid to increase revenue.

A club statement read: "Following the club board statement seven days ago, this is to update on where we are against the first £25k target to raise by the end of October.

"Our appeal for a good attendance v FCUM on Saturday received fantastic support, thank you for the tremendous number of supporters at the game. The increase in match takings, including both admission charges and secondary spend including away supporters, compared with the previous home league game v Chorley was £7795 (net of VAT).

"In addition to the above, very generous donations were made at the FCUM game and on the day totalled £2701. The donations in the last seven days is now a fantastic £6815, thank you to everyone for this outstanding response.

"The total raised so far against the October target of £25k, is therefore £14,610.

"Similar support at the next home game v Salford City (October 29) will help us hugely, but anything we can raise in the meantime is very important.

"As per the announcement yesterday our new commercial manager is already up and running and working to help close the gap to our October target.

"We would also like to thank our staff and volunteers who helped us at the FCUM game, the atmosphere was electric and we were delighted that the management and playing squad rewarded everyone with a welcome three points on the field.

"Thank you all for your very generous and active support."
