The Bucks won 2-0 thanks to goals from Connor McCarthy and Bradley Reid in front of a 1,076-strong crowd at Moss Lane.

It was the first time the side has won an away game this season, and they have now moved up to 12th in the table after registering back-to-back victories in the National League North.

"I thought it was a professional performance - a perfect performance away from home," said Smith.

"I have been saying how hard we have been working in training. The team is fresh with the youngsters in it, and I think it showed.

"There is a little bit of nous and there is youngsters with enthusiasm in there as well."

He added: "I am really pleased for all of the supporters. I has been a tough time, they have turned up in their numbers again and, for once, we have repaid them on the road."
