Ben Bailey revelling in AFC Telford United support

AFC Telford United stopper Ben Bailey is revelling in the New Bucks Head support as the club charge up the National League North.

The 25-year-old centre-half – signed from Hednesford Town in the summer – has been a crucial figure in the Bucks' change of fortunes, putting in some inspired performances at the heart of Telford's back line.

Despite featuring for just eight minutes of Telford's first six games this season, the defender has grabbed his opportunity and has played every minute of the last four matches – where his side are unbeaten.

And Bailey claims that support for Rob Smith's men from the sidelines, and the kind words he receives on social media, has been unlike anything he has witnessed previously.

"The support has been so good, definitely," said Bailey. "People have been saying to me that the crowds are down but they feel high to me because they're unlike anything I've played in front of before. The support is great. Even when they say well done to you online after the matches, it's brilliant.

"Supporters might not think it helps but it does."
