AFC Telford to conclude James Hurst investigation soon, says Rob Smith
AFC Telford manager Rob Smith expects the investigation into James Hurst's spat with fans on social media to be concluded next week.
The 24-year-old defender has been suspended by the club pending an investigation into an off-field incident after Saturday's defeat to Salford City.
Chairman Ian Dosser and general manager Sharon Bowyer are conducting the investigation, although Smith will be consulted throughout. And the manager expects to be involved in any decision made over the future of the former West Brom and Portsmouth man.
"The chairman and Sharon, the general manager, will be looking at what's gone on," confirmed Smith.
I don't know the ins and outs exactly of what has happened, but I imagine something will be decided next week."
Hurst, who joined the Bucks in the summer, is banned for this weekend's game against Boston United after getting sent off against Salford.
When the former Baggies player was given his marching orders on Saturday, Bucks fans ironically cheered Hurst, who responded with a smile, a thumbs up and a bow as he walked off.
Afterwards, Hurst engaged in an exchange with a number of supporters and posted several tweets, including one that read: "I feel like a surgeon stacking shelfs in this league (sic)."
