It was a level contest up until the 66th minute which saw Quakers goalkeeper Peter Jameson dismissed for raising his hands to the head of Dave Hibbert in the box - a real moment of madness.

Josh Wilson took the resulting penalty and sent substitute shot-stopper Mike Bell the wrong way, despite slipping as he struck the ball.

Bradley Reid then made it 2-0 to the hosts within a matter of minutes, hitting the ball into the far corner after Hibbert's clever pass.

In the first period, the Bucks were happy to play at a slow pace and they had two penalty appeals turned down by referee Declan Bourne - Reid the man going down in the area both times.

Assistant Larry Chambers confronted the man in the middle at half-time, but admitted both incidents were 50/50 after the game.

Reid missed a good chance, putting a header over the bar from close range when unmarked, before Telford were awarded a penalty.

Jameson appeared to have the ball in one of his hands and Hibbert tried to win the ball off of him. The goalkeeper then raised his hands to the face of Hibbert and the Bucks striker went down.

Jameson was sent off, Mark Bell went between the sticks for the Quakers and Wilson scored from the spot.

Reid, who played on the opposite flank in a front three, doubled Telford's lead with a fantastic strike from 20 yards out in the 76th minute.

Make no mistake, the red card was a huge turning point but Rob Smith's men deserve a lot of credit for capitalising and grabbing the all-important three points.

Key moments

9 - The visitors are the first to have an effort on target. Mark Beck's close range header is caught by James Montgomery after some sharp play by Stephen Thompson on the left.

18 - Some fancy footwork by Bradley Reid wins Telford a free-kick on the edge of the 18-yard area. Debutant John-Paul Kissock takes it but can only hit the wall.

30 - A good chance for the Quakers. David Syers opts to shoot, even though a few teammates were available to pass to, and Montgomery makes a comfortable stop.

34 - Telford appeal for a penalty as Reid goes down after Dave Hibbert's clever ball over the top but referee Declan Bourne is having none of it.

42 - A case of deja vu as Reid falls to the ground in the box and a penalty is not given by Bourne. After a good run down the right, the man on loan from Wolves appears to be clipped by a Darlington defender but play goes on.

45 - Bucks shot-stopper Montgomery gets down well to deny Beck's effort. Darlington then hit the post from close range, with David Syers appearing to get the touch. Telford fail to clear properly and the ball goes back into the box with Beck heading wide. Somehow the home side hold on.

53 - Darlington win a corner after some sloppy play at the back by the hosts. Nothing comes from the set piece and Josh Wilson has a relatively tame strike saved by Peter Jameson on the break.

54 - A big chance for Telford to go in front. Kissock's precise free-kick into a dangerous area is met by the unmarked Reid, who can only head the ball over.

66 - Telford have a penalty! Darlington goalkeeper Jameson appears to have the ball in his grasp, with Hibbert trying to kick it out of his hands. Jameson raises his hands to the face of Hibbert, who then goes down. A spot-kick is given, Jameson is sent off and Mark Bell comes on.

70 - GOAL! Telford go 1-0 up. After a big delay, Wilson puts the penalty away. He slipped as he struck the ball but managed to send Bell the wrong way.

76 - GOAL! Telford double their advantage. Hibbert, after some great hold-up play, finds Bradley Reid, who rifles the ball into the far corner from outside the box. A stunning strike.
