Larry Chambers: AFC Telford deserved to beat Darlington
AFC Telford United assistant boss Larry Chambers has praised the players for a 'thoroughly deserved' 2-0 win against Darlington and said the game-changing dismissal of Peter Jameson was 'probably for something silly'.
The Bucks - 16th in the National League North table - pulled off a surprise victory at the New Bucks Head against the second-placed Quakers, who had shot-stopper Jameson sent off in the 66th minute.
He was shown a red card after he appeared to raise his hands to the face of Telford striker Dave Hibbert, who then went down in the box.
Josh Wilson put away the resulting spot-kick and Bradley Reid doubled the home side's advantage in the 76th minute.
"Any three points for us is massive at the moment," said Chambers.
"We knew it was going to be a difficult game. Darlington are where they are in the league because they deserve to be.
"I think the thing that pleased us most is that the win was thoroughly deserved."
On the turning point of the game - Jameson's sending off - Chambers added: "I have not seen it properly and it is difficult for me to make a comment on it.
"It was something out of nothing in fairness but I haven't seen the replays.
"I just saw their keeper and I don't know if he threw the ball - it was probably something silly."
