Rob Smith Telford delight as John-Paul Kissock deal is done

The midfield creator arrived on a six-week loan deal from National League Ebbsfleet United.

He bolsters the attacking ranks for today's visit of Darlington 1883.

The Bucks also confirmed the departures of midfielder Sean Williams, who has left for Warrington Town, and left-back Darren Campion.

But in the capture of the diminutive Kissock, a Merseyside-born attacker who spent nine years in Everton's academy, Smith believes it shows players' desire to feature for the Bucks.

"The signing of JP proves Telford is still a very attractive club to play for," said the Bucks chief.

"Larry (Chambers, assistant) and I are urging supporters to come along to the game today and help support the club as we look towards getting back to winning ways.

"We are delighted with the signing of JP, he is a quality player and once we had a sniff he was available we had to work quickly to secure his signature.

"I would like to thank Ebbsfleet for being understanding in our current plight and in particular their chairman Peter Varney for his support."

Kissock has been sent on loan to spend more time near his Liverpool home and Smith was delighted that Telford swooped to beat off competition for his signature.

The attacking midfielder also represented England at both under-16 and under-18 level while with the Toffees.

After being released by boyhood side Everton, the 26-year-old impressed in the lower reaches until he was snapped up by former Bucks boss Liam Watson, then of Southport.

Spells at Luton and Macclesfield followed, where Kissock proved a favourite with supporters due to his silky ability.

Midfielder Williams, a Bucks ever-present this season, has joined a more local outfit in Warrington due to travel and work issues.

Left-back Campion had been searching for first-team football on dual registration terms at Sutton Coldfield Town.
