Bernard McNally: AFC Telford trophy run would lift the team

It would be great if Telford could go a long way in the FA Trophy and it is a big game at Ramsbottom United on Saturday.

It was tremendous for them to beat Darlington – after three straight league defeats – and that should give the players a lot of confidence, writes Bernard McNally.

That game may be the catalyst for Telford to start playing as they can and go on a bit of a run.

The desire and the commitment from the players needs to be at 100 per cent again on Saturday.

If they go there with the wrong attitude, they will come unstuck.

It is going to be a very tough game and you could argue the advantage is with Ramsbottom as they are at home, even with the difference in divisions.

It would be good for the Bucks to progress in the competition, especially given their financial situation at the moment.

John-Paul Kissock has come in and provided a spark with his creativity – and supporters will cling on to that.

He is a small lad and it can be difficult for other teams to cope with someone like that who has a low centre of gravity. He should be able to create a buzz in his short spell.
