Rob Smith: AFC Telford were 'nowhere near' Kidderminster Harriers

AFC Telford United boss Rob Smith has admitted his side are 'nowhere near' the level of Kidderminster Harriers after a loss 4-0 to them in the FA Trophy first round.

The Bucks were well-beaten by their National League North rivals at Aggborough - and Arthur Gnahoua, Keith Lowe, Mani Dieseruvwe and Jordan Tunnicliffe were on the scoresheet .

Harriers took the lead just prior to the half-hour mark after Tyrell Waite had a spot-kick saved by James Montgomery in the 17th minute.

"Let's get one thing straight - we are nowhere near Kidderminster Harriers," said Smith.

"Sometimes you have to just hold your hands up. They are head and shoulders above most teams.

"They are a very, very good team and sometimes you have to just say 'they were better than us'. We were very much second best."

Smith's plan was to frustrate Kidderminster, as they did when they beat them 1-0 in a league fixture at the New Bucks Head back in September.

"The game-plan was exactly the same as when we played them at home," he added.

"If you are going to get a result though, everybody has to be at it and carry out their own little jobs for the whole 90 minutes.

"If you don't, you're going to get beat and unfortunately, in certain areas, the goals were scandalous."
