Chairman Ian Dosser: No Telford buyer in mind

Chairman Ian Dosser insists lifting the limit on the amount of shares that can be bought by any individual in AFC Telford United has not been done with 'anyone in mind.'

A 20 per cent cap was waived at the club board's AGM this week – and the remaining 68 per cent of shares in the New Bucks Head side are expected to go on sale as early as next week.

The club could soon find themselves with a majority owner, but Dosser said: "It has not been taken away with anyone in mind.

"It is just taking away a barrier. We will launch the share offer (for the remaining 68 per cent) in the first part of March."

The club have announced their early bird season ticket prices for next season.

Available for purchase until the end of the month, an early bird is priced at £199 for adults, £156 for concessions, £89 for 16 to 19-year-olds and £45 (including a home or away shirt) for under-16s.

Initially, the prices are higher than last term but provided the uptake surpasses that of last year (425), the prices will be lowered to match those previous – with fans refunded the difference.

"The season ticket prices for this season, 2016/17 were significantly reduced in price from the 2015/16 season," said Dosser.

"The adult price was reduced by 24 per cent. We are holding the 2016/17 prices for 2017/18, providing we reach the same volume of early bird sales which was 425. Under-eights, accompanied by an adult, will continue to be free for next season."

For the rest of the season, a six-game adult ticket is priced at £55 and a six-game game concession ticket £45. Family tickets at £20 per match are available, as is a 'Kids for a Quid' initiative.

"That is doing as much as we can to get support in for these last six games – and you will see for the first time we have offered a six-game concession ticket," said Dosser.

"One of the shareholders at the AGM made the point we had a seven-game adult ticket, but we were not doing the same for concessions – so we fixed that."
