Luca Havern hails AFC Telford fans for 'unbelievable' support

The Bucks, having finally secured safety in National League North last weekend, host Harrogate Town on Saturday.

Havern – who has made 39 appearances for Telford this term at the heart of the defence – is hoping for a decent turnout at the New Bucks Head, and said: "From where we are, we want to finish on a positive.

"The fans, they deserve a good performance and three points. Huge credit goes out to the supporters, they have been unbelievable.

"They came all the way to (the 1-0 loss at) Darlington last weekend and they were making themselves heard all game.

"I thought we were a little unlucky to lose there too, it was a harsh penalty decision that cost us.

"On behalf of all the players, I would like to thank the fans. They have been great and their support really is appreciated by everyone here."

Telford go into the clash on a four-game winless run, and 17th in the table.

Summing up the season, Havern said: "There has been ups and downs – beating Kidderminster, and picking up points against Fylde and Stockport.

"We know we can do it but we haven't been able to find that consistency in terms of good results. We have underachieved.

"The big frustration is that we can do it, and it has been especially frustrating for supporters as this is the club they love and we have not been able to pick up the right results for them."

Havern, like the rest of the squad, will sit down with boss Rob Smith and assistant boss Larry Chambers to discuss whether he will remain at the club for next season as the management team look to rebuild.

When asked about his future, he added: "In terms of next season, it's down to Rob and Larry. "It usually happens two or three weeks after the season ends, they will be in contact with all the lads."The aim over the last five or six games was to secure safety and that is done now. Now we want to finish on a high and then hopefully be towards the other end of the table, where this club should be, next season."
