Rob Edwards vows to bring AFC Telford success
New boss Rob Edwards has vowed to do everything in his power to bring success to AFC Telford.
The former Wolves coach became Bucks manager last week as part of a major shake-up at the National League North club.
The 34-year-old, from Madeley, is adamant he will be a success at his home town club.
“The only way I know how to do is give my maximum,” Edwards said.
“If you’re privileged enough to be put in a position at a football club, you’ve got to put your life and soul into it. That’s what I’m prepared to do.
“What I can pledge is that I will give everything to try and get Telford up the league.”
Edwards was highly thought of in his time at Wolves and stepped in to manage the first-team following the sacking of Walter Zenga last season.
It is understood he turned down coaching roles in the Championship to move to the New Bucks Head.
Nevertheless, the former defender accepts he has a lot to learn about National League North football.
“I’ve got to be a fast learner, got to utilise all of the knowledge and wealth of experience that’s already here,” he added.
“I spoke to (keeper) Jasbir Singh. He’s played this level for eight years. These are experienced players. I’ve got to be like a sponge, take it all in and learn fast.”
