AFC Telford United part ways with Graham Hutchison

The 24-year-old was re-signed by Rob Smith and Larry Chambers prior to their departure and was a part of new boss Rob Edwards' plans as he went about shaping his Bucks squad.

But despite featuring in all three games so far, the ex-Scotland under-17 international admitted the commute to Telford from his Nottingham home was beginning to affect his lifestyle.

Hutchison has not yet made a decision on his playing future and wished Edwards and the Bucks the best of luck. The pair departed on good terms and Hutchison believes Telford are set for an exciting era under the former Wolves coach.

"The thing for me was the travelling from Nottingham to Telford," said Hutchison, who suffered a facial injury just before half-time in Saturday's Wolves reversal.

"It's a long old way. I'm leaving work at 4pm every Tuesday and Thursday to make training and not getting back till after 11 with work in the morning.

"I work in financial recruitment. It's got to the point where travelling is taking too much out of me. I couldn't concentrate on my football.

"I spoke with the gaffer and just told him that I didn't feel myself and it was too much for me.

"I was thinking too much about everything and I'm at an age where there's lots going on with work and moving in with my missus."

While naturally disappointed in the exit of Smith and Chambers, who he featured under on 26 occasions the season before last, Hutchison left with big praise for the new Telford boss.

The Scot was due to feature at Wolverhampton Sporting Community tonight and becomes the second centre-back to depart after Paul McCone also left. Wolves trialist Aaron Hayden has been a regular in the position so far.

"It edned on really good terms," added the former FC Halifax and Worcester City man.

"I wish them all of the luck in the world. Rob will build a good team and a good way of playing. I just couldn't give 100 per cent, and wouldn't just stay for the money.

"I have massive respect for the way he (Edwards) did everything. I've really enjoyed working with him and think he'll go on and do really well."
