Bailey, aged 26, has re-signed for Hednesford Town after a year at the Bucks in which he became a fan favourite.

He was one of the first to commit to Telford for the upcoming National League North season, but saw little game time over pre-season under new boss Edwards.

The centre-half, who made 27 league appearances for the Bucks last term, said: “It has had its up and downs but I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have loved playing for Telford, I really have.

“A new manager has come in and he knows what he wants, and I just felt it was right to leave.

“The season starts next week and I don’t think I have had enough minutes over pre-season to prove myself and get my fitness up.

“The manager has come in and he has his way of playing – he is very on point with that, and the players are working towards that.

“I am sure Telford will do well this season. There has been a lot of new players come in and a lot of changes, and I hope they will gel quickly. I wish them all the best.

“I am 26 now and the main thing for me is playing regular football and enjoying it.”

Prior to joining Telford, Bailey spent almost a decade at Hednesford Town, making 335 appearances.

And the Pitmen moved quickly to snap up Bailey again once he became available.

Hednesford first team coach, and former Bucks midfielder, Kris Taylor, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be able to bring Ben Bailey back to the football club.

“He is very much a clubman and a Hednesford Town stalwart for all the years and games that he played here during his first spell.”
