Rob Edwards: I'll keep asking for a lot from my AFC Telford players

Matthew Barnes-Homer, Marcus Dinanga, Anthony Dwyer and Jordan Lussey are the Bucks players who have found the net so far.

Edwards has urged his midfielders to follow in the footsteps of Lussey, who scored a screamer in Monday's 3-0 win at Leamington, and burst forward to get in scoring areas.

He is looking for his defenders to chip in too, and said: "It needs to come from everywhere.

"We need to look more of a threat from set pieces as well.

"It is great that Jordan got a goal, that's something he has got in his armoury.

"We spoke about it, 'you need to get yourself further forward', so I was delighted for him – a fantastic strike."

Edwards has been impressed by Lussey, a 'top professional' who is formerly of Liverpool, Bolton Wanders and Southport.

He had a trial spell at Coventry City before being signed by Telford this summer, and the Bucks chief said: "He has worked really hard since he has come into the team.

"His performance (on Monday), all-round, as well as the goal was excellent. He's a top professional."

After seven games, Telford are 13th in the league table.

The Bucks have won three of four on the road, but have lost all three of their fixtures so far at the New Bucks Head.

They have scored seven goals – one being an own goal – so far, conceding 10.

Telford face Blyth Spartans at home on Saturday, and Edwards said: "I still think we can be better in managing games.

"It would be nice to keep the ball in the opposition half with a little bit more composure.

"Look, I'm asking for a lot. But I'll keep asking for a lot.

"We need to try to keep improving."

Meanwhile, Edwards is hoping John Marsden will be able to train tonight ahead of a possible return to the squad on Saturday.

He has missed the last three games with an ankle injury, picked up in the 1-0 loss at Curzon Ashton on August 14.

Former skipper Jack Rea (ankle) and winger Chekaine Steele (hamstring) are not expected to be fit for the visit of Blyth.
