Rob Edwards: AFC Telford deserved 'at least a point'

The Bucks fell to a 3-2 defeat at Victory Park, despite playing against 10 men for the majority of the second half.

It was the hosts who took the lead through former Telford midfielder Josh Wilson and Marcus Carver added a second, before Jason Walker had a penalty saved.

Telford quickly drew level in the second period, with Adam Anson being sent off and Marcus Dinanga scoring the resulting penalty, and then a header shortly afterwards.

And just as it looked like they would go on to claim the three points, Carver had the final say for the Magpies.

"It is a frustrating day. I think we should have come away with at least a point," said Edwards.

"I thought we started the game well, were looking the better team, and then the first goal just rocked us a little bit.

"It was a disappointing goal to concede, we could have done better, and after the second we had to stick together and regroup.

"Jas Singh made a tremendous save from the penalty and that picked everyone up a little bit.

"We spoke at half-time and I said we weren't doing badly, we had an iffy 10 minutes."

He added: "The penalty in the second half came from getting through the sides and in behind.

"Then getting to 2-2, it looked like only one team would go on and win the game.

"We switched off for their third goal. We huffed and puffed, created some half chances, but our finishing could have been better.

"We got done with a sucker punch and credit to Chorley, they were ruthless."
