Anthony Dwyer intent on giving his all for AFC Telford

The 20-year-old has scored six goals for the Bucks this season, the latest being a stunning long-range strike as they beat Boston United 2-1 on Saturday.

Comfortable of operating as a no.9 or from either flank, he has quickly become a fan favourite – hitting his stride after a brace at Leamington back in August.

"When I spoke to the gaffer (Rob Edwards) before Leamington, he let me know what the league was about – the league is ruthless," said Dwyer, who spent time at the likes of Ilkeston and Stafford Rangers last term after being released by Mansfield Town.

"As a player, I have to perform. I have to step out onto the pitch and give 110 per cent – for me, for the fans and for him as well.

"The stuff we have in place as a club – training at Wolves, getting food after training, there is a lot of teams that don't have it.

"To have a gaffer that puts stuff like that in place, it is nothing for us go and give 110 per cent for him. It's good."

Dwyer came out a few weeks ago and set himself a target of 25 goals by the end of the campaign while fellow attacker Marcus Dinanga wants at least 30.

The Jamaican-born frontman is still aiming high as he believes him and Dinanga, who had a brief spell together at Matlock Town last campaign, have the ability to trouble any defence in National League North.

"Of course, we are young lads – we have got legs and we'll run for days," said Dwyer.

"We are hungry for goals and that's what it's all about.

"We just want to score goals, get wins, and we will give out our all every time we step out there."

Dwyer believes the play-offs are a realistic target.

The Bucks are currently 13th in the table having managed six wins and seven losses – and are three points behind seventh-placed Chorley.

Dwyer added: "There's no reason why we can't do it. We are three points away at the moment."
