The 23-year-old joined from National League North rivals Curzon Ashton last week, having scored four goals for them this term.

He made his Bucks bow as they lost at FC United of Manchester on Saturday, playing in the No.10 role.

"I want to cement my place in the team and chip in with a few goals along the way," said Leonard.

"My target for the end of the season is 15 and, of course, I would love to be part of a promotion as well.

"I am on four goals so far, so another 11 will do me."

Leonard progressed through the youth ranks at Huddersfield Town and has also had spells at Frickley Athletic and Glossop North End.

He signed for Curzon in July and played for them against Telford earlier this campaign, but found game time hard to come by towards the end of his spell there.

"I'm still young so I needed to be playing really," said Leonard.

"Having been out of the team at Curzon, it was an ideal time to move."

Leonard played as a number nine during his time as a youngster at Huddersfield.

Bucks boss Rob Edwards feels he is more effective as an attacking playmaker.

"As a youth team player, I always played up front," said Leonard.

"I have moved back a little bit recently though and I enjoy it there."

Leonard is unable, at the moment, to commit to four training sessions a week with Telford so last night's session at Lilleshall was just his second with the club.

He insists he will be able to join on Monday and Friday afternoons at Wolves' Compton Park training complex from next week onwards though, and added: "It's hard for me at the moment as I'm transitioning to part-time with work.

"I'll be able to join in with the four sessions from next week.

"I recognise a few of the lads from playing against them earlier in the season but it is all new faces for me.

"Telford are a big club that everyone talks about so I'm glad to be here."
