AFC Telford United are willing to let midfielder Louis McGrory out on loan to get more minutes under his belt, boss Rob Edwards has revealed.

The 20-year-old has not played for the Bucks since coming on for the last quarter of an hour against Southport on October 28.

He did not make the bench for the last two games either, and Edwards said: “In Jordan Lussey, Jon Royle and Henry Cowans, there are three midfielders that have been playing well.

“Louis has been unfortunate in that sense and is having to be patient.

“He has been working really hard in training and he has got a great attitude.

“We had a conversation and we would be willing to let him out on loan at the moment.”

McGrory is formerly of Forest Green Rovers and had a spell on trial at League Two side Newport County during the summer.

The Exiles were thought to be interested in signing him, but were unable to complete a deal, and Telford then swooped in at the end of August.

He joined Forest Green at the age of 16 after his release from Swindon Town.

The holding midfielder progressed through the Rovers academy and signed a professional deal there in 2015.

McGrory was then had loan spells at Evesham United, Aldershot Town, Hungerford Town and Gloucester City before being released by the New Lawn club at the end of last season.

He has been used sparsely by Edwards though, making just seven appearances and failing to score.

“I don’t want to be holding any young players back,” added Edwards.

“At that age, you need to be playing regular football in order to develop and if it’s right for him and right for the club, we would be happy to send him out on loan.”

McGrory would be joining Will Marsh and Zak Lilly in being sent out on loan.

Attacking midfielder Marsh is at Stourbridge in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier while winger Lilly – who broke into the first team under Rob Smith last campaign – is at Rushall Olympic in the same division.

Meanwhile, Telford are hopeful of completing a signing this week.

Edwards did not give anything away in terms of a position, but they are already well-stocked in forward areas and supporters have been calling for a defender to be signed.
