Bernard McNally: AFC Telford fans benefit from early weather call

AFC Telford United's game at Spennymoor Town last weekend was called off early, which was good to see.

I am glad that non-league clubs are being pro-active, checking weather forecasts, to avoid unnecessary costs being incurred and, ultimately, time of club staff and fans being wasted, writes Joe Edwards.

When I was at West Brom, I remember travelling to Sunderland only to have the game called off when we got there because of heavy snow and we had to go straight back, it was a nightmare.

This Saturday, weather permitting, Telford host York and it should be a good game between sides still trying to find their way.

A weekend off may be to the Bucks’ benefit – the players getting a rest – or it could have thrown them off their stride a bit.

Hopefully it is the former and the New Bucks Head crowd really get behind Rob Edwards’ side, to help keep up their push for the National League North play-offs.
