Things will soon improve, says AFC Telford boss Rob Edwards

Rob Edwards insists AFC Telford United's results will take a turn for the better soon, declaring: "We have to keep believing in what we're doing."

The Bucks are now just a point above the National League North relegation zone.

But Edwards, who is preparing his squad for tomorrow's visit of York City, is not too worried about their league position.

"We have to continue to build and we have to keep believing in what we're doing," said the Telford boss.

"We have a hugely important game, a massive game.

"The only we get a result in that is to keep believing, keep working hard and do the right things."

The Bucks lost 3-0 at league leaders Salford City on Saturday.

They have gone three league games without scoring, but Edwards is not looking to drastically shake things up.

"I can't change. I've been around long enough now to know if you keep working and keep believing, things will turn," he said.

"I don't think we need to (change).

"We need to just improve – don't make those silly errors, and we're still creating chances. It'll come.

"We've all talked about the tough run of games that we've had over the festive period and going into January, we know that.

"We're right to believe we can go to Salford and get something, but we didn't.

"We're at home against York now and we've done it away against them (winning 1-0 there on the opening day).

"We have to keep doing the right things, that's the only way it will turn."

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ryan Schofield made his Telford debut at Moor Lane, as did Ryan Leak – who scored an own goal.

Huddersfield Town loanee Schofield, 18, came in for Jas Singh – who, before Saturday, had played every minute of every game for the Bucks this campaign.

On whether the teenager or the 27-year-old non-league veteran will be his No.1 going forward, Edwards added: "It's a competitive situation.

"We need everyone to believe that they can play.

"Ryan's come in at the moment and will add really good competition.

"Jas has reacted really well and I expected nothing less from Jas. He's a seasoned pro.

"It'll be good for them to battle it out."
