Bernard McNally: Time for AFC Telford to get physical

Amari Morgan-Smith and Ben Wilson appear to be decent signings for AFC Telford United.

Hopefully goalkeeper Wilson, who is on loan from Cardiff City until the end of the season, can provide the Bucks with a solid base to build from.

And Morgan-Smith, signed on an 18-month deal from York, has plenty of experience.

He is the man tasked with getting the goals that Telford so desperately need, to get out of the National League North drop zone.

Rob Edwards is aiming to sign a couple more players and the obvious thing the Bucks need is some physicality.

Their ethos is all about having young players who look to play the game in the right way, but they need to abandon that slightly.

I always said I would never play three at the back when I was in charge at Telford, but then I did and we went 26 games unbeaten to go up through the play-offs.

Sometimes you have to stray from your beliefs.
