Bernard McNally: Dom Smith a big signing for the Bucks
I was pleased to see Dom Smith join AFC Telford after finally leaving Shrewsbury Town.
I remember Dom being given his first pro contract during the time I was a youth coach at Town, writes Bernard McNally.
I think he will be a good addition for Rob Edwards’ men but things did not go to plan for the Bucks in the second half at Southport on Tuesday.
Dom is a very determined person and from my point of view that is a brilliant signing.
I’ve spoke with a few managers in the lower levels and they have all spoken about the dislike of a backlog of games – it takes its toll on you.
The Bucks face some busy weeks before the season is up and, without question, they have a tough run-in beginning at ninth-placed Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday.
They have two or three games in hand over some of their relegation rivals. Let’s hope they can string a few wins together and get themselves climbed up to safety.
